SciTrue

Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms govern your use of the SciTrue website (scitrue.org) and the SciTrue browser extension (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The service

SciTrue analyzes scientific claims and questions against the published literature and produces an evidence-grounded summary with cited sources. The analysis is generated by automated AI systems and is provided for informational and research purposes only.

Not professional advice

SciTrue is not a substitute for professional judgment. Its output does not constitute medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. AI-generated analysis can be incomplete or wrong, so always verify important conclusions against the cited sources and consult a qualified professional before making decisions that affect health, safety, or finances.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Credits and payments

Some features use credits, which can be purchased in packs. Payments are processed by Stripe. Credits grant access to analyses and are consumed as you use the Service. Credits expire 6 months after the date of purchase and any unused credits are forfeited at that time. Except where required by law, purchased credits are non-refundable once used. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will work with you in good faith.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by SciTrue. Cited papers and their content remain the property of their respective rights holders; SciTrue surfaces excerpts and links for the purpose of evidence and attribution.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SciTrue and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions made in reliance on the Service’s output.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
