SciTrue

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

SciTrue helps you check scientific claims against the published literature. This policy explains what the SciTrue website (scitrue.org) and the SciTrue browser extension (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox) collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

Information we collect

How we use your information

We use the information above to provide the service: to run the analysis you request, show your history, manage your account and credits, process payments, and send essential emails (such as email verification and password resets). We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve SciTrue.

How your claims are processed

The reasoning behind each verdict runs on our own self-hosted AI models, so your claims are not sent to third-party AI providers. To find relevant papers, the text of your claim or query is sent to third-party academic literature search services.
